Dubai Honors 100 Taxi Drivers for Exceptional Performance Excellence

Recently, the Taxi Sector Excellence Award was presented to 100 outstanding taxi drivers by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in recognition of their extraordinary performance.

Attendees at the event included the head of the team responsible for the Taxi Excellence Awards, Nabil Yousef Al Ali, and Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan, CEO of the Public Transport Agency. Other directors and representatives from taxi franchise companies were also present.

Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of Public Transport Agency, noted, “The drivers awarded the ‘Ideal Driver’ title were acknowledged for their exemplary performance in fulfilling their duties with outstanding quality and adherence to the award's excellence standards."" RTA employs a rigorous evaluation system as part of the revised Excellence Award Policy for Taxis.

This system evaluates drivers based on various criteria, including the absence of valid complaints, traffic violations, driver-related accidents, and service quality lapses in their records. The evaluation process ensures transparency through the establishment of a dedicated follow-up team and collaboration with franchise companies to identify and nominate outstanding drivers.”

“This award aims to enhance customer service, instill a competitive spirit among drivers and companies, promote traffic safety and awareness, boost customer satisfaction, and inspire drivers to achieve exceptional performance and uphold the highest quality standards in service delivery," he emphasized.

The RTA acknowledges the competitiveness among Dubai's taxi companies and appreciates the efforts of all companies, which have contributed to the remarkable growth in the taxi industry. This growth encompasses e-hail taxis, hourly vehicle rentals, and the Hala Taxi service. The RTA remains committed to continually improving the taxi service to meet the daily mobility needs of Dubai's residents.

The honored drivers expressed their gratitude and joy for the recognition, viewing it as evidence of RTA's dedication to its taxi industry partners. It highlights the importance of collective efforts to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with RTA regulations and traffic laws.
