Several emirates, including Ras Al Khaimah, Al Ain, and Umm Al Quwain, have encountered a wet spell since the morning hours.

Meanwhile, residents of Dubai and Abu Dhabi were pleasantly surprised by the onset of rain across various parts of the cities, following a stretch of warmer weather. This rainfall serves as a delightful conclusion to the nine-day-long Eid holiday weekend, which followed a month of fasting for many.

Dubai's iconic Burj Khalifa witnessed a majestic scene as medium-intensity rain showered the downtown area, accompanied by the synchronized movements of the dancing fountains, creating an enchanting ambiance. Videos capturing this breathtaking moment were shared by the Storm Center on social media platforms. Additionally, lightning illuminating the sky above the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was captured in another video shared by the Storm Center.

Motorists returning from daytime activities during the weekend were taken aback by the unexpected rainfall. Videos depicted rain falling over Dubai's Mirdif area and a cloudy night along Sheikh Zayed Road following light drizzles. Another video showcased motorists navigating through heavy rain in Dubai.

Abu Dhabi also experienced rainfall, as documented by the Storm Center in yet another video. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued orange and yellow alerts for various parts of the country, cautioning residents about the formation of convective clouds associated with rainfall in coastal and internal areas. The alerts also warned of fresh winds reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h and cloudy conditions from Saturday evening until Sunday morning.

The NCM forecasted the possibility of heavy rain in certain areas starting Sunday, with the potential for hailstorms accompanied by lightning and thunder between Monday and Tuesday. The Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to exercise caution and adhere to changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards due to the unstable weather conditions.

Looking ahead, the NCM's forecast for today indicates partly cloudy weather with increased cloud cover and rainfall in some regions, particularly in the eastern and southern areas. Winds are expected to be light to moderate, occasionally becoming active.
