RTA UAE announces free parking during the Eid Al-Fitr Holiday in some places

The Roads and Transport Authority in the United Arab Emirates announced free parking during the Eid al-Fitr holiday in public parking lots in the country in some places, stressing that free parking can be inferred from the blue signboards.

For its part, the Sharjah City Municipality announced that inspection teams will continue to monitor violations in the use of parking, stressing that public parking will be free during the first, second, and third days of Eid.

Warning against random parking behind vehicles

The Sharjah City Municipality warned against reserving more than one parking space, parking randomly behind vehicles, obstructing traffic, and other wrong practices and behaviors.

It should be noted that the Director General of Sharjah City Municipality, Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, had previously announced that Sharjah City Parks are ready to receive visitors, to enjoy its distinguished atmosphere and various service facilities, in light of the family and entertainment atmosphere the parks provide, as well as children’s play areas and seating areas.

Obaid Saeed Al-Tunaihi called on residents to maintain cleanliness, not to leave waste on the ground and put it in its place, and to adhere to the conditions and instructions necessary for visiting parks shown on the information signs.

43 teams to perform the supervisory role

As part of its preparations to welcome Eid Al Fitr in all areas of the city of Sharjah and to provide an environment free of negative behaviors that negatively affect the general appearance and comfort of residents, the Sharjah City Municipality announced that 43 teams would be assigned to perform the supervisory role and monitor distortions in the general appearance during Eid Al Fitr. This was done in order to ensure that individuals are able to enjoy the festival without any disruptions. Furthermore, the municipality has prepared the required and proactive measures to deal with public reports and comments, as well as to reply to the questions that are made by the public.

With the purpose of enhancing public health in the emirate, preserving the safety of the public, ensuring that the health and safety standards required by these facilities are implemented, and ensuring that all standards regulating the workflow are met, the inspection teams will follow up on the facilities in a thorough and continuous manner around the clock.

Parking is free on the first, second and third days of Eid

According to the Director General of Sharjah City Municipality, parking is free on the first, second, and third days of Eid. The only exception to this rule is places that are subject to fines on all days of the week and official holidays. These areas may be identified by the blue signboards.
