Sharjah government announces park closures due to bad weather

The Sharjah government has decided to close all parks in the emirate in anticipation of the bad weather that is predicted for this coming weekend.

The closure will be in place starting from Friday, March 8, and the main reason for it is to make sure that everyone is safe.

The Sharjah Municipality has made it plain that the park closures are a preventative step taken because of the expected harsh weather. When the weather clears up, though, they promise the parks will be back open in no time.

Earlier today, the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) issued advisories highlighting the likelihood of unstable weather conditions affecting several emirates, including Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah. In response to these warnings, the decision to close parks in Sharjah was made as a proactive step to mitigate any potential risks to public safety posed by the inclement weather.

Also, Ras Al Khaimah would be introducing online education to its public schools, as was confirmed later that night. In light of the current weather conditions, this decision is in line with measures to guarantee the safety of students and staff while also allowing for the continuation of educational activities despite the difficulties.

The closure of parks in Sharjah and the implementation of remote learning in Ras Al Khaimah represent precautionary measures taken by the respective authorities in response to the forecasted adverse weather conditions. These decisions prioritize the safety and welfare of residents and underscore the proactive approach adopted to manage potential risks associated with inclement weather.
