With a considerable budget of AED 2.18 billion, Abu Dhabi approved the distribution of the first housing and benefits package for its inhabitants in 2024.
All throughout the emirate, 1,502 people have received this distribution. With a grand total of more than AED 2.082 billion, the housing benefits cover a wide array of programs, from subsidies for residential land to pre-built homes and housing loans. Notably, about AED 98 million has been exempted from home loan repayments for specific demographics, including seniors, retirees with low incomes, and relatives of individuals who have passed away.
The green light for this housing benefits package was granted by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, following the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, emphasized that this initiative aims to enhance the well-being of citizens and their families across the emirate.
The timing of the distribution of this year's inaugural housing benefits package coincides with the approaching Eid al-Fitr, underscoring the leadership's commitment to safeguarding the welfare of Emirati families. The primary objective of this initiative is to furnish suitable housing that caters to the needs of residents, elevates their standard of living, and fortifies their stability, thereby fostering the comprehensive development of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
With the implementation of this package, the cumulative value of housing benefits disbursed since the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority surpasses AED 149 billion. This substantial investment underscores the government's unwavering dedication to prioritizing the housing needs of its citizens and ensuring their prosperity and contentment.
