In collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) in Abu Dhabi has announced that it will prohibit the movement of buses on Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street from Sheikh Zayed Bridge to Sheikh Zayed Tunnel (which was formerly known as Al Qurm Street). This ban applies to buses of all sizes and types, including light buses and heavy buses.

On Monday, April 15, it will go into force, and it will be applicable in either direction at any time of the day or night around the clock. As part of this, weekends and official holidays will be included.
In accordance with the authority's statement, this limitation will not apply to school buses, buses used for public transportation, or buses that provide access to work sites located in the vicinity.

It was made clear by the authority that the decision is in accordance with the efforts that are being made to improve the flow of traffic and reduce the number of accidents.
The ITC also advised operators and drivers to comply with traffic laws, highlighting the significance of increasing road surveillance, monitoring buses that do not comply with regulations, and imposing penalties in conjunction with the Abu Dhabi Police Department through the use of intelligent technology.
