IndiGo, one of India's leading budget airlines, has announced a significant addition to its flight services, promising increased travel opportunities for the upcoming summer season.

Commencing from next month, IndiGo will introduce new direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Kannur, a district in the northern region of Kerala, India.

Beginning on May 9th, these non-stop daily flights will establish a seamless connection between the coastal city of Kannur and the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi. Passengers can anticipate convenient departure times, with flights departing from Kannur at 12:40 am and arriving in Abu Dhabi at 2:35 am. The return journey will see flights departing from Abu Dhabi at 3:45 am and arriving in Kannur at 8:40 am.

This development marks a significant expansion in IndiGo's services, with the airline now operating a total of 56 weekly flights to Abu Dhabi from eight cities across India. This move aims to bolster travel, trade, and tourism ties between the two nations, offering passengers enhanced accessibility and connectivity.

Vinay Malhotra, the head of global sales at IndiGo, emphasized the company's commitment to providing customers with superior connectivity and a diverse range of travel options. Malhotra highlighted IndiGo's dedication to delivering affordable, punctual, and hassle-free travel experiences, underscoring the airline's unwavering focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence.

The introduction of flights to Kannur comes at an opportune moment, coinciding with the upcoming summer vacation period, thereby providing passengers with expanded travel choices. This expansion aligns with the objectives outlined in the Abu Dhabi Tourism Strategy 2030, which seeks to boost visitor numbers to the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

IndiGo's decision to introduce new direct flights between Kannur and Abu Dhabi represents a significant step forward in enhancing air connectivity between India and the UAE. This move not only caters to the increasing demand for travel during the summer season but also supports broader economic and tourism objectives between the two nations.
