As of Monday, the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) made the formal announcement that Eid al-Fitr 2024 vacations will be observed

Dubai: On Monday, the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) made the formal announcement that personnel working in the private sector will be off for Eid al-Fitr vacations.

It has been stated by the Ministry that on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, all personnel working in the private sector in the United Arab Emirates would be given a paid holiday from Monday, 29 Ramadan (8 April 2024) until 3 Shawwal (or whatever day is equal to it in Gregorian calendar).

What this indicates is that the Eid holiday for the private sector will start on Monday, April 8 (the 29th day of Ramadan). In the event that the first day of Eid falls on a Tuesday, that is the day when offices will stay closed until Thursday, April 11.

If, on the other hand, the first day of Eid falls on a Wednesday, then the holiday for the private sector will continue until Friday, January 12th.

Holidays for the public sector

In order to commemorate Eid al-Fitr, the United Arab Emirates Cabinet has decided to declare a public sector vacation that would last for a whole week. This is consistent with the declaration that was made previously by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources in the United Arab Emirates. Beginning on Monday, April 8, and continuing through Sunday, April 14, personnel of the government will be on paid leave. They will return to work on Monday, April 15.
