A tragic incident unfolded in southwestern Pakistan as a truck en route to a shrine met with a devastating crash, resulting in the loss of at least 17 lives and leaving 41 individuals injured.
The accident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. GMT on Wednesday evening within the Hub district of Balochistan province, as disclosed by District Deputy Commissioner Munir Ahmed to AFP.
As per Ahmed's account, the truck was reportedly exceeding the speed limit, leading to a loss of control for the driver while navigating a turn. Subsequently, the vehicle careened off the road and plummeted into a ravine as it approached the shrine. Shaukat Jalbani, the deputy medical superintendent of Hub's primary hospital, corroborated the casualty toll, confirming the tragic demise of those involved. He also mentioned that they promptly transferred the majority of the injured to Karachi for urgent medical attention.
