The Dubai Criminal Court has found seven individuals of Asian descent guilty of the theft of electrical cables.

These perpetrators unlawfully accessed a company's warehouse, seizing approximately 150 meters of wire valued at an estimated 220,000 dirhams. The Court of Appeal later acquitted one of the accused.

According to court proceedings and public prosecution investigations, the defendants orchestrated a plan to steal the cables. Under the cover of darkness, armed with iron scissors, they forcibly entered the warehouse, tampering with both the door and the electrical system. Once inside, they pilfered the wires before making a swift getaway.

Upon discovery of the theft, the company's security personnel observed signs of forced entry and damage to the premises, including the broken warehouse door and compromised electrical infrastructure. Subsequent police investigations corroborated the involvement of a group of Asian individuals in similar crimes, utilizing a coordinated approach to target construction sites and execute thefts.

Further evidence, including fingerprints found at the scene, led to the identification and subsequent arrest of one of the perpetrators. During interrogation, the detained individual confessed to his involvement in multiple thefts alongside accomplices of the same nationality. He revealed details of their modus operandi, including transportation methods and the distribution of proceeds.

Following a thorough review of the case, the court determined that the defendants had knowingly engaged in the unlawful appropriation of property. Consequently, they were sentenced to six months' imprisonment, ordered to pay a fine of 220,000 dirhams collectively, and faced deportation from the country. This verdict reflects the court's confidence in the evidence presented, establishing the defendants' culpability in orchestrating and executing the theft of valuable electrical cables.
