The United Arab Emirates has decided to provide this group with a monthly stipend equal to half of their basic salary.
To the President, His Majesty The provision of a monthly financial allowance that is equivalent to fifty percent of the base pay has been directed by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for all mosque staff members, including imams and muezzins who are employed by the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments (GAIAE).
When is this allowance included?
According to Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of GAIAE, this allowance would be automatically incorporated in the monthly wage. This allowance was provided as a result of the follow-up and assistance of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court.

In addition, he mentioned that this effort is a method of expressing gratitude from His Highness the President to the imams of mosques and muezzins, who work hard to maintain an atmosphere that is conducive to worship and tranquility while adhering to the highest standards of excellence.
Al Darei expressed his appreciation to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan for their unwavering support and concern for mosque workers. Further, Al Darei thanked them for their support of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments in its efforts to fulfill its religious and communal responsibilities.
