Demands to cancel the visas of foreign students in America participating in the protests

Ahmed Moawad - | World

Senator Marco Rubio, Republican of Florida, repeated his call to demand the withdrawal of visas for foreign international students in America, against the backdrop of protests and sit-ins demanding a ceasefire in Gaza and the killing of innocent civilians at the hands of Israeli forces.

It should be noted that Republicans have publicly expressed the call of US President Joe Biden since the beginning of the attacks of October 7, 2023, to demand the necessity of canceling visas for international foreign students in the United States of America, especially students demanding a ceasefire against civilians in Gaza.

Protests increase on American universities

The number of protests at American universities continues to increase tenfold and continues on a daily basis, with increasing violence by company forces against students who oppose the war on Gaza.

Some American universities have warned Jewish students and teachers to stay away from campus these days for their safety.

Police escort Jewish students from campus

Many Jewish students called the police and had them escort them so they could go to an area of the university.

The Republican Senator called on the US President to return international students in the United States, who are not American citizens, to their countries if they participate in these demonstrations that have spread widely in many American universities.

Camps inside American universities

It is worth noting that many students at universities in the United States of America have set up many camps inside the universities and organized pro-Palestinian demonstrations in order to mobilize calls for a ceasefire by Israel on civilians in the Gaza Strip and the demolition of their homes.

The American Senator added that the American President should have said, “If you are not an American, then you are here on a visa, as he told me earlier.”

Adding that if international students go to school chanting the name of Hamas, Hezbollah, and these terrorist groups, their visa must be cancelled.

Defacing the statue of George Washington

The US Senator explained that the protests witnessed many atrocities, including the defacing of the statue of George Washington at GW University in Washington, USA.

Adding that the US government must remove any non-citizen holding a student or teaching visa who lowers American flags and raises Palestinian flags during the current protests in the United States of America.

The most famous example of clashes between protesting students and their administrators, as well as between Republican lawmakers, is Columbia University in the United States of America, where students set up an encampment on the New York City campus and refused to remove it even after threats of law enforcement action to remove it.

The protesters hate America

US Senator Rubio said that the international student demonstrators in the United States of America “hate America,” adding that if they obtain visas, they must be canceled immediately and then expelled from the country.

He also stressed, during press statements to Fox News, that the American president should have been very clear about the side we stand on from the beginning.”

"Look, there's a group of Democratic donors, major Democratic donors behind the groups," he added. Which funds all this.

19 Republican lawmakers to cancel foreign student visas in America

It is worth noting that beginning with the Hamas attack on Israel, 19 Republican legislators joined their ranks, demanding that the US government cancel the visas of foreign students who expressed their support for the Palestinians.

“We are writing to request information regarding the potential unlawful presence on American soil of non-immigrant foreign nationals who have supported terrorist activity,” these Republicans announced in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
